Who else is getting really into holiday baking right now? These chocolate gingerbread brownies are perfect for this time of year, and they taste totally amazing. I really think these are some of the best brownies I’ve ever made! The chocolate and gingerbread flavors are the perfect combination in these luscious brownies. They have the most amazing chewy and fudgy texture, just the right touch of spice, and are decadent without being too sweet.

The brownie batter mixes up quickly in one bowl, and you don’t even need a mixer to make them! They’re a delicious adaptation of my favorite brownie recipe, and just as easy to make! These brownies are perfect with a glass of cold milk or a cup of hot cocoa on the side. They’re very rich, so a small piece is plenty for me, but they are so so good! My whole family absolutely loved these brownies!

Ingredients

  • 12 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup cake flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325. Line an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 square pan with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the butter, sugar, and molasses. Add the eggs and vanilla, and mix until smooth. Add the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves, and mix until just combined. Spread the batter in the prepared pan. Bake 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 1 1/2 inches from the side of the pan comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Let cool 20-30 minutes before slicing. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
