Cinnamon Streusel Banana Bread
This sweet and tender cinnamon streusel banana bread is full of delicious flavors. It’s the perfect cozy fall bake!

Since cozy season is well underway, it’s time to bring out all of the cozy fall bakes! (Although, to be fair, it’s not like I stopped baking all through the summer months, even when my kitchen was basically a tiny sauna.) This cinnamon streusel banana bread is the essence of delicious fall baking! It’s so soft and tender, moist and buttery, and topped with a decadent cinnamon streusel. It smells absolutely heavenly while it’s baking, and will definitely give your home some excellent fall baking vibes!

Since my toddler is very hit and miss with bananas these days (and absolutely will not eat a banana if there is even a single brown spot on it), I seem to always have brown bananas on hand. And there’s no point in buying less bananas, because then she’ll definitely go through a phase where bananas are the ONLY thing she’ll eat and I won’t have enough and she’ll be starving. 🙂 This banana bread is the perfect solution. We all love it (even the picky toddler!) and it’s so easy to make that it’s one of my go-to’s all year round. My older kids will happily eat it for breakfast or after school snacks, and it always disappears fast!

Ingredients
for the bread:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 overripe bananas mashed
for the streusel:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter cut into pieces
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325. Prepare a loaf pan by spraying with cooking spray and lining with parchment. In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Mix in the eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk. Add the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder, and mix until just combined. Fold in the mashed bananas. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- To make the streusel, whisk together the sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Smash in the butter using your fingers, until the mixture resembles damp sand. Sprinkle the streusel mixture over the top of the loaf. Bake 60-70 minutes, or until golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool before slicing and serving.
