Hi friends! I’m so excited to share another tasty pumpkin recipe with you today! These pumpkin cream cheese blondies are totally delicious, with a sweet and lightly spiced pumpkin flavor. They’re so easy to make, and perfect for fall! My good friend Cortney came up with this recipe years and years ago, and I’ve been making them every fall since then. The texture of these blondies is sort of a cross between a cake and a brownie, and the swirl of pumpkin flavored cream cheese is silky and decadent. These blondies are so delicious!

To make these blondies, you’ll layer about 2/3 of the blondie dough in the bottom of the pan, then pour the pumpkin filling over the top. Finally, you’ll add the rest of the blondie dough on top in scoops, and then swirl it all together. It can be a little tricky to swirl the blondie dough through the pumpkin filling, but don’t despair! It doesn’t have to be perfect, and the blondies will still turn out delicious. I used a wooden skewer for the swirl, but you could easily use a knife or a toothpick instead. As the blondies bake, the pumpkin filling will set. The texture of the pumpkin swirl is similar to cheesecake, and it’s so delicious in combination with the cakey blondies. If you love pumpkin desserts, you definitely need to give this one a try!

Ingredients

for the blondies:

  • 9 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 2/3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

for the pumpkin cream cheese swirl:

  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 6 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325. Line a 9 x 9 baking pan with parchment and spray with cooking spray.
  • In a medium bowl, beat together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla, and mix until combined. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, and mix until just combined.
  • Spread two-thirds of the dough in the bottom of the prepared pan. In a medium bowl, beat together the butter, sugar, and cream cheese until well blended. Add the pumpkin puree, egg, vanilla, flour, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice, and mix until well combined. Pour the pumpkin mixture over the dough in the pan, spreading evenly.
  • Drop the remaining blondie dough in spoonfuls over the top of the pumpkin mixture. Using a toothpick or a knife, swirl the blondie dough through the pumpkin cream cheese mixture.
  • Bake 45 minutes, or until the blondies are very lightly browned on the top, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
