Ok, I think it’s high time I finally share these cookies on the blog, considering I made them for my baby’s FIRST birthday party, and he’s turning three this week! One of his middle names is Bjorn, which means bear, so for his first birthday we held a sweet little bear-themed party for him. I made the adorable bear cake that I already posted (in a much more timely manner) and these little cookies were our party favors. I wrapped them in cellophane bags, sealed them with a cute sticker, and they were super adorable for our guests to take home. These bear paw cookies are simple and delicious, easy to make for a crowd, and best of all, really fun!

Chocolate and peanut butter are always a fantastic combination, and they’re totally delicious in these cookies! The cookies themselves are soft and luscious in the middle, with crisp sugary edges. The chocolate just adds to their charm and makes them totally irresistible!

Maybe this is just me being persnickety, but I like the look of the paw prints better with the chocolate chips and melting wafers placed upside down so they’re flat on top. Obviously you can place them however you like, but I think it gives the cookies a nicer look. I used Guittard semi-sweet chocolate chips and melting wafers, but milk chocolate or even white chocolate would work as well, depending on the look you want. Regardless of which color of chocolate you use, they are as adorable as they are delicious!
